Charlie completed his training contract at the firm and qualified into the Litigation team in August 2023. Charlie advises on a broad range of disputes facing private individuals and corporations in the private wealth sphere. He specialises in contentious matters involving trusts, as well as inheritance and probate disputes, advising the full spectrum of clients including executors, trustees, protectors, and beneficiaries.
Charlie has experience of claims involving will validity challenges, undue influence, and proprietary estoppel, as well as Inheritance Act claims, and disputes involving executors and trustees. He also has good experience with offshore trust disputes, including blessing applications made by trustees in connection with large corporate transactions as well as allegations of breach of trust or fiduciary duty. Charlie supports clients through all stages of the dispute, from initial strategic advice to potential settlement discussions, mediation, and court proceedings, providing clear and pragmatic guidance in often sensitive circumstances.
Prior to joining the firm, Charlie worked as a paralegal in the Wills & Probate department of a busy high-street firm. While at this firm, Charlie also spent time working within the Residential Conveyancing department. Charlie has also gained experience of other areas of law through a variety of vacation scheme placements.
Charlie studied Economics at the University of Bristol, graduating with upper second class honours. This included a year spent studying abroad at the Universitat de Valencia. He subsequently completed his GDL at Nottingham Law School and his LPC and Master of Laws (LLM) at BPP Law School.
