Sinclair Gibson LLP is a boutique firm located in the heart of London’s legal centre which specialises in advising high net worth clients in connection with international and domestic tax and trust law matters, trust and probate litigation, and family law. The firm has seven partners who are supported by a team of highly experienced solicitors and administrative staff.
Several of the partners are known as leaders in their fields and the firm itself has an excellent reputation for the quality of its work and dedicated service to clients over many years.
We seek to recruit a minimum of two trainees each year to join our team and have two intakes, one in August and one in February.
What we offer trainees
We offer a high standard of training to individuals committed to a career in private client law. The training is split into four distinct seats ensuring six months in each of our three core practice areas: private client, litigation, and family. In addition, you will have the opportunity to spend six months gaining experience of property work on secondment to a firm close to the office.
During each seat you will sit in an office with either a partner or a senior solicitor who will supervise your work and guide your training. You will be expected to get involved in every aspect of the department’s matters and as a result will have the opportunity to undertake a broad range of work. You will also be exposed to other professionals that solicitors interact with on a regular basis, for example by attending consultations with Counsel, Court hearings and meeting with experts instructed to advise on particular cases. You will be supported throughout each of your seats and will receive regular feedback on your work to support your development.
What we look for
We encourage you to apply for our training programme from the beginning of your final year of university but equally take applications from candidates studying for the GDL, LPC and those who have completed their studies.
The work we do can often be challenging and so we look for candidates who have excellent academic results and have shown consistency in their academic achievements. In addition, we particularly seek out candidates who exhibit natural intelligence, flair, and imagination, and who we know have the potential to become excellent private client solicitors.
Salary and benefits
First year trainees are currently paid £36,000 per annum, rising to £38,000 in the second year. Salaries are reviewed in May each year.
We offer trainees an excellent benefits package which includes life insurance, permanent health insurance and private health insurance, and interest free travel loans.
How to apply
We are not currently actively recruiting for trainees. However, if you wish to be considered for training at Sinclair Gibson LLP in the future, you can submit your CV along with a covering letter explaining your suitability for the role to email@example.com.
