Charles is a private client tax and trusts lawyer advising prominent families, high-net worth individuals, and trustees on complex strategic succession strategies. Charles joined Sinclair Gibson from a City firm in February 2026 where he was head of the Landed Estates practice.
Charles is well-known for his technical expertise in trust law and capital taxes. He translates complex issues into clear, actionable strategies ensuring clients receive advice that is both technically excellent and practical. He has a mixed international and domestic practice and is a registered DIFC Wills Draftsperson.
Described by referees as a “stand-out partner” in Legal 500 (2026), Charles is STEP-qualified with specialist accreditation in UK Tax for International Clients. He is listed as a “Top Recommended” Tax Lawyer in Spears Tax & Trust Index (2025) and recognised as a Citywealth Leader (2025).
Charles joined the firm in February 2026, having previously spent time with the firm as a paralegal in 2008. He trained at a neighbouring specialist private client firm from 2009 and progressed to join the partnership there in 2018, before moving to a City-based firm as a partner in 2022.
Charles graduated from Peterhouse, University of Cambridge with a degree in Classics before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at The University of Law in Guildford (then College of Law) where he obtained a Distinction.
Charles is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has completed STEP’s Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients with Distinction. He is also a member of the Agricultural Law Association, the CLA (Country Land and Business Association) and the Westminster & Holborn Law Society.
